About Atrium

Built by people who watched fund ops teams rebuild the same spreadsheet every quarter.

Atrium was founded in 2023 with one question: why does every private-credit fund rebuild its portfolio view from scratch each quarter? The answer wasn't a better spreadsheet. It was a reconciliation layer that didn't exist.

The problem we couldn't stop thinking about

Before Atrium, Ryan Alfred spent six years working with private-credit managers in the secondaries and advisory markets. The thing that surprised him wasn't that fund ops teams were using spreadsheets. It was that the spreadsheet process was the same at every fund, at every AUM level, with every servicer combination. The quarterly tape rebuild was a universal constant, not a sign of an unsophisticated team.

The data existed. The servicers produced it. The admins tracked it. The problem was the reconciliation step: taking 3-4 different formats, matching positions across systems, checking covenants, attributing cash flows. That step lived in Excel, done by the ops team, rebuilt from scratch every quarter.

Atrium was built to own that reconciliation step. Not as a reporting layer on top of the spreadsheet. As the place where the reconciliation actually happens, so the spreadsheet isn't needed for it.

"The same three servicers. The same four column formats. The same five people rebuilding the same view. Every quarter. At every fund."

The team

Three people who've all worked inside the problem.

Ryan Alfred, CEO and co-founder of Atrium

Ryan Alfred

CEO, Co-founder

Six years advising private-credit managers on portfolio operations and data infrastructure. Previously at Benefit Street Partners and a boutique credit secondaries advisory. Spent more time than he'd like to admit reconciling loan tapes in Excel.

Marcus Cole, CTO and co-founder of Atrium

Marcus Cole

CTO, Co-founder

10 years building financial data infrastructure. Previously led the data engineering team at a credit analytics firm that processed 80+ servicer tapes per quarter. Understands why every fund's tape format is slightly different and has an opinion about it.

Priya Manohar, Head of Product at Atrium

Priya Manohar

Head of Product

Came to Atrium from the ops side. Three years as a portfolio operations analyst at a direct lending fund, where she owned the quarterly reconciliation process. Product decisions at Atrium are made by someone who has personally done the job the product replaces.

How we work

What we believe about data and this market

  • 01

    Accuracy over features

A reconciliation platform that surfaces an inaccurate position count is worse than no platform. We'd rather have fewer features with a verified reconciliation result than a full dashboard that adds uncertainty.

  • 02

    Your data is yours

We don't use portfolio position data to build models, benchmarks, or market analytics. Your tape data is processed to reconcile your positions. That's the scope. It's in the contract.

  • 03

Tell clients what we can't do

Private credit has a lot of variation. Some structures, some servicer formats, some covenant types aren't well-handled by any current system, ours included. We say that directly, before onboarding, so you know what you're signing up for.

  • 04

Onboarding is a commitment, not a form

The four-week onboarding program requires real participation from our team, not just a login and a help center. If the fit isn't there, we'd rather find out in the demo than three weeks into onboarding.

Where we are right now

Atrium is in early product deployment. We closed a $100K angel investment in April 2026 to complete the reconciliation engine and run the first set of client onboardings. We're not a large team and we don't pretend otherwise. What we have is a product built by people who've done this work, and a small number of funds who are willing to tell us when we get it wrong.

We're not raising again in 2026. The focus is client onboarding and product stability, in that order.

We talk to fund ops teams directly. No sales layer.

Every demo is run by someone on the product or engineering team. If you have a technical question about how we handle your tape format, you get a real answer in the first session.
